Amazonite


Description

Amazonite is a lovely bluish-green stone, which is minerally related to both moonstone and labradorite (feldspars). Due to its color, amazonite is sometimes confused with turquoise.

The Stone of Courage & Hope

Some people believe that amazonite is named for the legendary female warriors of the Amazon and ancient Egyptians called amazonite the Stone of Courage. Aptly, amazonite is said to inspire courage and to motivate young adults.

In Central Asia where amazonite has been referred to as the Stone of Hope, this gemstone is thought to make married life happier by reducing aggravation, revealing truth and easing communication.
